Education Director, Inbar Robbins

Inbar Robbins was born and raised in Forest Hills, NY.  The granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor and daughter to Israeli parents, a Jewish education was very important.  Inbar attended the Solomon Schechter School of Queens in Flushing, NY from September 1979 to June 1988.  In her eight years there, she was an accomplished student and Torah reader.  She attended Forest Hills High School and graduated with honors from the Law and Humanities program.  She then attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she was involved in the Hillel group and tutored local Jewish children for their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.  After a transfer, she graduated Cum Laude from CUNY Queens College with a BA degree in Communications.  She worked on Wall Street for several years and later switched careers.  She worked at Merrill Lynch as a Project Coordinator in technology, a corporate trainer and event planner.  Inbar left the corporate world in 2002 after the birth of her first son. 

Inbar joined the Perrineville Jewish Center in 2010 when her eldest son was ready to start Hebrew school.  Her children all attended Sons of Israel Preschool and Kindergarten and continued with their Torah Tots program, a bridge program from 1st to 2nd grade.  She was asked to join the Board of Directors at Perrineville Jewish Center in January 2014 as the Chair of the Hebrew School.  In that capacity she has reviewed curriculum and suggested curriculum changes, observed teachers, created a new student handbook, worked closely with students, parents, staff and the Rabbi. 

In 2016, Inbar was hired as Perrineville Jewish Center’s first Education Director, establishing LEV Academy, PJC’s Jewish Enrichment Program for children ages 8-13 and LEV Echad: K-2 program for children ages 5-7.  She is responsible for the implementation of iPads and Chromebooks and incorporating them into the existing curriculum.  She also has been responsible for recreating an engaging, modern and hands-on program that students and parents love!  In addition to being LEV Academy’s Education Director, she also co-teaches the Bar/Bat Mitzvah class alongside Rabbi Schevelowitz, oversees the Bar/Bat Mitzvah program.

Inbar is actively involved in the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey’s Jewish Education Directors Group and has been responsible for creating and executing professional development opportunities for Jewish educators as well as co-writing and receiving a Federation Grant for continued professional development for Jewish educators.

Inbar lives in Manalapan, NJ with her husband of 25 years, Rich, and their three children.  She enjoys time with her family, friends and traveling.
